BioFocus DPI uses an "Intelligent Screening" approach to accelerate partners' drug discovery programs.   This approach focuses on combining the know-how and expertise of BioFocus DPI’s scientists with extensive high-throughput and information-rich screening capabilities to generate faster results.

As part of this Intelligent Screening approach, BioFocus DPI calls upon: PrimePath^TM, our compound screening service that uses disease-relevant complex assays in human primary cells; our high-throughput and information-rich ion channel screening capabilities; and our natural product screening platform, which is ideal for addressing difficult targets, such as protein-protein interactions.  

Our assay development and in vitro screening services include: assay development and formatting for high-throughput and ultra-high-throughput screening; and screening in support of hit finding, hit-to-lead and lead optimization programs. We also provide a full suite of ADME/PK assays.

For projects where structural information about the target protein is available or a series of active compounds have already been identified, in silico screening of compound libraries can be applied to develop pharmacophore hypotheses prior to actual in vitro screening of biological activity.

Hit-finding using these screening platforms is further enhanced by our target-based SoftFocus and ThemePair compound libraries.  These libraries are designed to offer superior hit rates with proven rapid progression to optimized lead candidates.
